South building expansion December progress report

The extra room provided by the south building expansion couldn’t have come at a better time. That’s because in December, Co-Line recorded its highest amount of workload (dollars worth of work in the system) since they started keeping track of that figure three years ago. It’s a good sign of things to come since December has typically been a slower month. “It was wonderful to have the extra space, this time of year especially,” Rail Brand said. Thanks to the size of the new addition, Co-Line has been able to have as many as five trucks in the building at one time loading and unloading! Even with the holidays in December, progress on the expansion remained steady. In December, the plumbing was finished, and more concrete was poured. The storm shelter block walls are nearly complete, and the steel liner panels are starting to go up around the inside of the walls. Looking ahead, the cranes will be set into place in January. Later in the month, the process of sealing the interior concrete will begin. Indoor lighting will also likely be installed. The most time-consuming task coming up is the final planning of the paint line layout and the last concrete to go in that area. “We’re waiting on the final layout to appropriately plan the pits and foundations,” Rail said, adding, “It will probably come together this month.”
