Quarterly meeting recognizes safety accomplishment
Hawaiian shirts and leis were seen in abundance at the employee quarterly meeting held on Thursday, Jan. 26, at noon. The luau-themed meeting included a free Hawaiian lunch for Co-Liners paid for by 1st State Bank.
New employees and temporary employees were welcomed to their first quarterly meeting.
A total of $2,580 in cash was awarded to the 45 employees and 19 spouses who participated in fourth-quarter Wellness Program challenges. The first-quarter wellness challenges were reviewed with employees encouraged to participate.

Also at the meeting, an announcement was made that Co-Line had reached over 250,000 working hours without a lost-time injury. Hooded sweatshirts recognizing this achievement were distributed to employees. As of Jan. 21, Co-Line had worked 50 days without an OSHA recordable injury and 211 days (251,343.62 hours) without a lost-time injury. Keep up this very important work, Co-Liners!
Team member assessment forms as well as wage evaluation guidelines were reviewed with the evaluation schedule for January through June released.
Looking at the fourth-quarter bonus factors, only on-time delivery contributed to the bonus given out in January. October was a weak month with labor and overtime hours high compared to sales. November was an average month, and December was affected by less working days, year-end expenses, and years of service bonuses.
Looking forward, the first quarter looks to be promising with good opportunities in the works. Reinvestment in equipment will continue in 2017, including a 440-ton Whitney press brake, Roemer 3D laser scanner, and Toyota forklift and forklift scales. Laser automation, saws, and plasma upgrades are being considered. Co-Liners have seen a strong start to 2017, and all indicators point to continued growth in 2017.
