Pella Career Academy welding students tour Co-Line

Co-Line hosted a tour for seven students from the Pella Career Academy on Apr. 14. These students are in the welding program at the academy and are from Pella, Pella Christian, and Twin Cedars. Dan Schutte gave them a tour of the south building, and they were quite interested in the lasers and the new tube bender. Bryan De Jong was the tour guide for the north building and reported the group was actively listening and looking at parts and machines. Co-Line employees Zach McClellan and Ben Hardesty went through the same program a few years ago as high school students and shared about their career path. The students shared some of their interests, which included IT and/or design, continuing with welding, and some weren’t sure yet. Co-Line appreciates playing a small part in the future of today’s students. Something they see at Co-Line could spark a real interest that could help them make better decisions about their future.
A couple people on the tour are very familiar with Co-Line. Many Co-Liners know Sheila Graham, who is a former Co-Line employee and currently the welding instructor for the Pella Career Academy (far left in the photo), and Austin Lemons, son of Co-Liner deWayne Lemons, who is fourth from the right in the photo.
