January South Building Expansion Progress Report
The south building expansion is nearing the stage of finishing touches after good progress in January. In the past month, the overhead hoists were set in place, and electrical work was advanced. The interior walls of the restrooms and storm shelters have gone up. And workers are partway through sealing the floor, which has disrupted work, but Co-Liners have been very patient.
“We have to clear everything out as they seal each section at a time,” explained owner Rail Brand. “The material handling people are doing a great job of accommodating the sealing of the floor.”

Looking ahead, the paint line plans will be finalized soon. The precast concrete ceilings for the storm shelters will go on in February, and by the end of the month, the restrooms may be functioning.
Rail did note that Co-Line was very busy in January, which has impacted the expansion project some.
“Our very strong workload, in some cases, has trumped the progress on the building addition,” he said.
At the same time, since the addition is usable, it has been a great asset during this busy time.
“Even though we can’t use all of the new building all of the time due to the sealing of the floor, the extra space continues to be a blessing,” Rail said. “I don’t know what we’d be doing without it.”
