Employee and son build tractor from ‘junk’ donated by Co-Line
Eight 4-H kids in Jasper County were given a bucket of "junk" parts to create an object of their choice. Each had the same pieces and parts. The kids, along with a parent, were to weld anything of their choice. They could cut, bend, and weld the parts however they wanted, but they could not add anything from outside the bucket. The kids will be judged on their creations the Saturday of the fair, and then their creations will be on display for all to see. The projects will be auctioned off Thursday night of the fair before the livestock auction. The money raised will go towards 4-H scholarships and camps for 4-H kids.
This was the second year Colby Tool, the son of Co-Liner Dan Tool and his wife, Renae, participated in the bucket of junk challenge. Colby and Dan put their very creative minds together and decided to weld a Farmall steel-wheel tractor. They started with the wheels, and Colby said it all fell into place. Colby would like to thank Rail Brand and Co-line for donating all the "junk. ”
