Co-Line owners Rail, Eric, and Faye Brand had the opportunity to meet with Iowa Governor Terry Branstad in his office at the state Capitol on Monday, Jan. 20. The Brands requested a meeting with the governor to discuss steel tariffs, exports, and imports. Branstad has been nominated by the Trump administration to fill the role of Ambassador to China. Foreign competition and being able to compete on an equal playing field are very important to the success of Co-Line and many other manufacturers in the state of Iowa and the United States. “It was an honor to spend time with Governor Branstad,” Rail said. “Each of us was able to share our perspective and insights on steel tariffs, the intended and unintended consequences of them. I am hopeful our time together will add value to Branstad’s decisions in his new responsibility as Ambassador to China. We congratulate the governor on his nomination and wish him the best in his new role.” Others in attendance were Senator Amy Sinclair and Representative Greg Heartsill.
